Matilde

Matilde, with the help she received from her teachers, managed to catch up in her studies and pass the accelerated course this year. She will start her 1st year in high school, which will be a challenge since she will have to work hard and improve her behavior. While Matilde was in Colomi, she grew tall; she is now more sociable and showing leadership qualities.  She has adapted well to school and says she enjoys it.  In school, she was selected to have godparents from Italy. They write regularly, and Matilde also likes to write to them.  During her vacation, she was invited to spend some time at María Huayta’s home, and they had the chance to visit Potosí together. We believe that this was an important time for Matilde, as she was in Colomi when María Huayta stopped working as a substitute mama in her house at the Villa. Now her relationship with María is stronger than ever, and Matilde has been able to discuss with María some of the important events in her life.
